Pain Control
Pain should be rated by each patient using a “10-point scale”.
1/10- 3/10 is mild pain, 4/10 -6/10 is moderate pain, and 7/10-10/10 is severe pain.
For example, lumbar disc hernia causes persistent & severe pain (=10/10).
We can control such severe pain by slow intravenous anti-inflammatory drugs & morphine sulfate, and
take a lumbar MRI on the same day.
Once the diagnosis is confirmed, nerve root block is arranged with our
collaborative specialist.
We provide oral pain medicine based on patient history, severity, and pain origin.
We consider “pain relief” one of the most important tasks for our patients.
We prepare over 20 kinds of pain medications.

However, 70-80% of pigs in rural area have JE virus from July to September.
So, non-immunized foreigners (from US, Canada, Europe, Australia) should receive JE vaccine twice (at least once even after arrival in Japan).
DVT
(Long Flight Thrombosis )
DVT after long flight is called “Long Flight Thrombosis”, which is a life-threatening
condition.
So, early & accurate diagnosis is important.
Our clinic handles 40-60 cases /year.
Initial symptoms are unilateral calf pain and swelling.
D-dimer measurement & lower-leg echogram should be done.
We can measure D-dimer on site within 15 minutes, and echogram on site.
We provide oral medication for treatment, and subcutaneous injection for prevention of returning long
flight.
If you suffer from lower leg injury (sprain, fracture, strong contusion),especially when skiing, you need DVT prevention.
We have Clexane 4,000 U, or oral anticoagulants .
As risk assessment, we recommend D-dimer on site(within 15 min.) and Color Doppler Echogram.
