Clinic Introduction

Dr. Gilles Poumerol, Head of the Travel Medicine Department at WHO (left), Director Shinozuka (center), and Gary W. Brunette, Chief Editor at the CDC (right)

Director Shinozuka is a leading expert in travel medicine in Japan, and not only does he possess a wealth of knowledge, clinical experience, and clinical skills, he has also supported the Japanese Society of Travel Medicine as its executive director for 20 years.
He has built close relationships with emergency physicians and infectious disease specialists active in a wide range of fields both in Japan and abroad, as well as officials from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The information he gains from experts in a wide range of fields is utilized in the medical care he provides at our clinic.

For example, thanks to our connection with a professor from Utah State University who spoke at the Japanese Society of Travel Medicine Conference, we have been given and are utilizing the infectious disease manual created by Utah State University.
Utah State University sends personnel all over the world and has accumulated a large amount of information on infectious disease cases from around the world, so our clinic is able to make appropriate decisions when treating any infectious disease.
